Holiday Cottages
Our two holiday cottages quietly situated at the bottom of our long private farm lane looking out over fields and woodlands are a good half mile from the main road, so apart from farm shop customers and our tractors, there is little other traffic. Both cottages have been created from small redundant barns and have strong green credentials and the conversion work made extensive use of recycled materials, the windows and doors of both cottages are hand made from salvaged scrap oak. They are furnished with a mixture of family heirlooms and vintage finds and are powered by solar electricity and logs.
The Stables
Our original holiday cottage looks tiny from the outside, but inside it is deceptively spacious, (a regular repeat visitor describes it as his tardis!) Featuring original stone walls and roof beams, the cottage has a compact double bedroom with high antique double bed and ensuite shower bathroom and an open plan kitchen, living and dining room. The kitchen is fully fitted having a fridge freezer, microwave, oven and hob. The living room has a television, radio/C.D. player, a swaps library in the tall dresser together with lots of magazines and board games. Heating is provided by a wood burning stove (the farm is self sufficient in wood) and an electric storage heater for back ground heat.
One well behaved dog is welcome subject to prior arrangement. Apart from the door step and two steps in the hallway, the cottage is on one level throughout.
Tariff
The cottage costs £250 per week all year round or £40 per night for a short break. This cost includes electricity, logs, pure cotton bed linen, towels and household linen, toileteries and a basic range of kitchen ingredients.
Martins Cottage
Completed in July 2012, the conversion having taken much longer than originally anticipated, Martins is slightly longer than The Stables. Due to new building regulations, we could not keep the original stone walls on show, but instead, character has been retained by the extensive use of handmade oak details and reclaimed timber flooring.
Martins has a seperate double bedroom with built in wardrobe and ensuite shower bathroom and an open plan living, dining and kitchen area with woodburner and panel heaters for background heat.
One well behaved dog is welcome subject to prior arrangement. There is a level path to the front doorway and apart from the door threshold, the cottage is one one level throughout

Additional Information
Home grown vegetables, fruit and herbs are available from the farm shop along with home made preserves and cake. Should you wish, a three course home grown, home cooked evening meal can be ordered. Our organic farm covers 28 acres, that you are welcome to explore. We have created two large ponds and planted traditional hedgerows, cider apple orchards and woodland.
Situated on the edge of the somerset levels just outside the historic town of Langport, there are plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing and bird watching. We have secure storage for bicycles and can dry wet walking gear on the farmhouse AGA overnight. There are several National Trust properties, RSPB reserves and famous private gardens are also close by.
Doggy Notes
We welcome well behaved dogs by prior agreement to our farm, but we would like owners to be aware that we have two farm dogs and two farm cats who would really appreciate not being terrorised on their home territory. There is also a small flock of hens contained within electrified fencing. Whilst staying in the cottage please don't leave dogs alone in the cottage or let them sit on furniture or beds and there is an ample supply of nappy bags in the cottage for picking up deposits.
Road Directions
M5 Jcn 25 take the A378 to Langport turning left at the traffic light junction. Continue on A378 to Curry Rivel. Go through Curry Rivel and out - road goes through 'tree tunnel'. as trees open out look for farm sign on the right. Follow an unmade unnamed lane for ½ mile and turn left before two cottages and into the farmyard. Please toot horn. Car parking is available just round the corner from the cottage.
From the A303, once you reach the Podimore services roundabout, take the A372 toTaunton and Langport. Come through Langport, over the River Parrett bridge and up a slight windy hill. Look out for our white farm sign on the left hand side on the brow of the hill. Turn left at the sign and come down the un named, unmade lane for a good half mile. Turn in left infront of the two cottages and come up into the farm yard.
Public Transport Directions
From Yeovil Junction, Pen Mill or Taunton railway stations make your way to the central bus stations and catch the no. 54 bus to Taunton/Yeovil. Ask to be put out at Sandpits Hill a request stop, between Curry Rivel and Langport, ask the bus driver to put you out at the farm sign at the top of the lane. If you ring before hand, we can meet the bus or train at Yeovil or Taunton.
